Pastor Brady Boyd Selected as Candidate for Sr. Pastor at New Life Church
We’re excited to announce that Brady Boyd, Gateway’s Associate
Senior Pastor, was chosen as the top candidate to become Senior Pastor
of New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pastor Brady was
selected from dozens of candidates by a selection committee and a board
of overseers at the 10,000-member, nondenominational church. This ends
an 8-month process of filling the position of senior pastor after it
was vacated by former Senior Pastor Ted Haggard.Pastor Brady
accepted the position as Senior Pastor, pending a two-thirds majority
vote of approval by the congregation, which is required by church
bylaws. He will preach at New Life on August 12, 19 and 26. Members of
New Life will vote on August 27.Pastor Brady believes he is
accepting God’s directive: “I heard God clearly say that accepting this
position is a kingdom assignment.”The New Life Church selection
committee described Pastor Brady as “a man of character, proven
experience and good reputation.” Pastor Robert Morris agrees. “He’s a
tremendous man of integrity who loves his family,” he said.

It was only last week when I was talking about New Life Church in two separate conversations: one with my brother and the other with my ex-wife. In addition to that, all the pastor blogs and articles I read on a daily basis which whenever the topic of accountability comes up, undoubtedly, the recent history of New Life Church always comes up in the conversation.I have only been attending Gateway for such a short while but I have had the pleasure of hearing Brady speak (most recently, a 5 part series on Heaven which is available here). When I heard him speak the first time, I thought to myself (and I think I shared that thought with others), “Pastor Brady is going to be a Senior Pastor here very soon… I wonder what the church thinks about him.” Thinking that thought unknowing that he was in the running to be the Senior Pastor at New Life Church.
That church is going to need a lot of healing. My prayers have already started on not just the leadership but the people of New Life as well. My prayers also go for the healing in the Haggard family.
If God’s Will be done for the Boyd family to move to Colorado Springs, I am already planning a weekend road trip to hear him preach.
