Ephesians 1:3-6 (ESV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.

Joseph,
I know your dear Grandmother and have met you at Bethesda, I knew a little about you before reading your testimony...now I am shown again our wonderful Jesus and what He will do when we realy surrender and have special people, like your Grandmother, praying for us. I had a friends mom I met a couple of times. When I became a christian 5 years later, I saw her and she told me she had been praying for me for years and I hardly knew her. It blew me away when she told me that...she loved had me with her prayers.

Kathy: I have spoken to many people about this since writing this review.

I understand that because of this book, many people came to see God as not just some sovereign, overbearing Lord but a beautiful, redeeming, gracious and loving Saviour.

So for that, I applaud the book.

However, there is most definitely a way to teach people about the merciful and goodness of God that didn't involve near heresy and could have used a lot more scripture to back up the author's point.

The best and most indepth review of the book can be found at TheResurgence written by Scott Lindsey: http://tinyurl.com/6lg7k9

At least he finished the book. I couldn't even do that.

An acquaintance at the library suggested I read The Shack, so I checked out it out last week, having never even heard of the book before that day. I've stopped reading completely and will return it to the library TODAY. I began skimming at about page 72 . . . and I've had nightmares every night since picking it up! This drove me to the internet to see what was being said in truly Christian circles about this. Initially disturbed by the representation of God as a female, my distaste with the entire thing grew. I find the subject matter (child murder) and the themes and content completely disturbing. Today's research confirmed my suspicion that there's nothing redeeming in this novel. It's out of my house, TODAY!

All I know is that if God does not bless me to be a pastor/teacher, then I will use the free time that I have to study, learn, listen and prepare as though I am one.

I have had nothing but God, his heart and his words on my mind nearly every second of every day since having that talk with my boss. That is a feeling I don't want to let go. I always want to be thinking about His words upon my heart and struggle and wrestle on how to teach it.

It is such a beautiful thing.

Wow, Joe. WOW

I recently experienced a cut in hours at my job. This sparked a LOT of conversations between my husband and me, regarding what I really want to do with my time/talents.
Yeah. I think there's a divine hand in all this... I really do.

Jeff: It is always an honour.

Tom: classic quote. Every time I get into a Calvinist debate, I always have that quote in my head.
